Migrant Education Program (MEP)
The Migrant Education Program (MEP) provides supplemental educational support for migratory children and youth ages 3–21. The program helps students strengthen their skills in English Language Arts, English Language Development, mathematics, science, and the arts.
Through a special partnership with the Los Angeles Zoo, elementary students participate in engaging educational experiences that include zoo visits, collaboration with a zoologist, behind-the-scenes learning opportunities, and student presentations about selected animals.
Transportation is provided from designated school sites.

Learning Method: In-person and online options are available.
Eligibility: Los Angeles Unified considers students “migrant students” if the parent, guardian or family member in the household is a migratory worker in the agricultural, dairy, lumber, packing, fishing or livestock industries, has performed the work within the last 36 months, and traveling with that child.
